Surya Puja
सूर्य पूजाSurya is greeted at sunrise with water, as the light that keeps the day.
You will need
- Copper pot of water
- Red flowers
- Rice and kumkum
- Jaggery
Steps
- Face the rising sun after a bath.
- Add red flowers, rice and kumkum to the water.
- Pour the water in a thin stream while chanting the mantra.
- Sing the aarti.
Mantra
ॐ घृणिः सूर्याय नमःom ghrinih suryaya namahAarti: Om Jai Surya Bhagwan
ॐ जय सूर्य भगवान, जय हो दिनकर भगवान।
जगत के नेत्र स्वरूपा, तुम हो त्रिगुण स्वरूपा।
धरत सब ही तव ध्यान, ॐ जय सूर्य भगवान॥
